The 1868 Society Luncheon 2026

On Saturday 16th May, The 1868 Legacy Society Luncheon brought together members of the Stortfordian community for an enjoyable afternoon of conversation, reflection, and updates from across the school.

Members of the 1868 Society were welcomed to the Senior School Library for a three-course lunch, providing a wonderful setting to catch up with contemporaries and members of the College community. The event also offered the opportunity to hear more about life at the College and some of the exciting developments taking place across the school.

During the afternoon, the Head of Prep School, Rachael Cox, delivered an engaging update on the College as a whole, reflecting on recent successes, ongoing developments, and the many opportunities available to pupils throughout the school.

Guests also heard from our Senior School Deputy Head, Emma Bowater, who spoke about her fantastic work on the College's outreach programme. She spoke of her efforts to extend the school’s resources and expertise to children and families within the local community through her 'Invite and Inspire' initiative. Her presentation highlighted the importance of widening access and ensuring that more young people are able to benefit from the educational experiences and facilities the College can offer.

The 1868 Legacy Society Lunch continues to be a valued occasion in the College calendar, allowing members to come together and to celebrate their shared commitment to supporting future generations of pupils.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the afternoon such an enjoyable and memorable event. Please log in to see the full photo gallery for the day below.
