A Bright Future for Memorial Hall
Memorial Hall is set to be restored as a vibrant community hub, welcoming people of all ages to connect, celebrate, and create new memories.
Originally designed by Clough Williams-Ellis to honour Old Stortfordians who lost their lives in the Great War and later conflicts, the hall has long served as a venue for learning, celebrations, and community events. The revitalisation project will preserve the hall’s historic character while introducing modern enhancements. Key improvements include reopening the south-facing window for more natural light and views of Master’s Green, a fully upgraded stage with professional lighting and sound, and flexible, comfortable furnishings to support a variety of activities. Advanced window treatments will balance privacy and light, creating a serene atmosphere for both reflection and lively gatherings.
By supporting this initiative, the community will help safeguard a cherished landmark and ensure Memorial Hall continues to inspire and bring people together for generations to come.
