Fond Farewell to Wendy Dodd

After four years of dedicated service, we bid a heartfelt farewell to our valued Development Team colleague, Wendy Dodd, whose contribution to the College has been nothing short of exceptional.

From the outset, Wendy has worked tirelessly to support all aspects of our development activities. She has led our Annual Giving and Legacy Programme with warmth, diligence, and care, and enthusiastically thrown herself into major initiatives such as Giving Days, the 2025 Fortnight of Giving, and the Stortfordian Walkway Appeal. Her efforts also played a pivotal role in the Memorial Hall Pipe Organ Restoration Appeal, among many others.

Wendy has honed expert event management skills, proving herself equally at home in black tie attire at gala balls, in trainers at OS sports fixtures, or in high-vis gear directing traffic to ensure our ever-challenging parking arrangements ran smoothly. Her adaptability and commitment have been second to none.

Beyond her professional achievements, Wendy has built meaningful and lasting relationships across the breadth of the Stortfordian community, supporting colleagues with her signature smile and unfailing positivity. Nothing has ever fazed her, and the solid foundations she has laid will benefit the College for many years to come.

While Wendy’s departure is a significant loss for us, we are thrilled for her as she takes on a new role at another independent school—a well-deserved promotion that will undoubtedly see her continue to shine. We wish her every success in this exciting next chapter.

And though Wendy leaves us as a colleague, we hope to welcome her back for future OS events—this time as a very special guest rather than the event host!
