Exchanging one beautiful part of the world for another, Former Head of Media Studies Mike Tomkys (87-19) takes us on a journey through his recent globetrotting adventures, all infused with a delightful touch of College spirit!

Greetings from Dubai!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Dubai and catching up with some familiar faces from the College English Department. It was wonderful to spend time visiting former colleague Linda Dickinson (Staff, 00-19) and her husband OS Scott Dickinson (GH, SH, 71-79).

We even managed to have an impromptu English Department meeting over lunch at the Palm with Becky Roberts (née Speight) (Staff,15-22), who was on holiday with her husband Craig and their adorable 3-month-old baby daughter, Lyra.

Our adventures didn't stop there! We explored the stunning Frame, enjoyed a scenic boat ride on the Creek, and had an exhilarating jet boating experience from the marina. 

I also had the chance to meet up with OS Astrid French (née Dickinson) (PP, MJH, YH , 97-11), who now calls Dubai home with her husband Jack.

After a fantastic trip filled with memories, I'm heading back to my home in Cyprus for a well-deserved rest!
