Celebrating Charlie Bannister - Invitational Hockey Matches & Retirement BBQ

After an extraordinary 48 years of dedicated service, Charlie Bannister will be retiring at the end of this academic year. To mark this milestone, Charlie is inviting all his former 1st XI hockey players back to the College for a special afternoon of sport, memories, and celebration on Sunday 21 June.

Hockey has always been at the heart of Charlie’s life at the College, so it’s only fitting that his retirement festivities centre around the game he loves most. He is especially keen to welcome back his past players to take part in two invitational matches, with teams loosely arranged by age group.

Event Schedule

12.30pm – Player arrivals

1:00pm – Match One

3:00pm – Match Two

4:00pm – Celebratory BBQ for all players, spectators, partners, and families

Who’s Invited

• Charlie's past 1st XI players – Charlie warmly encourages you to register here to play and join one of the teams he’ll be assembling for the day.
• Charlie's past 1st XI players as Spectators – If you’d prefer to cheer from the sidelines, you are just as welcome. Partners, children, and families are invited to join the celebration.

Event is free to attend but prior registration of all players and spectators is required
