Haywardians near & far - join us in celebration of 70 years of your amazing community!

We are delighted to announce the evolution of our reunion programme, now centred on the heart of Old Stortfordian life—the senior school houses. Learning from recent OS events and recognising that the strongest OS affinity lies within the house system, these reunions will honour shared heritage, deepen connections, and celebrate the enduring pastoral legacy of the College.

How It Works

• House-Based Gatherings: Each reunion will focus on individual houses, giving OS and staff across the generations the chance to reconnect with the community they know best.
• Simultaneous Celebrations: 2–3 houses will host separate reunions on the same day, with all guests joining together for a convivial lunch.
• Special Anniversaries: Where possible, reunions will coincide with significant house milestones.

Programme Launch

The inaugural event will take place on 18 April 2026, marking three remarkable anniversaries (in some instances academic year of specific anniversaries) :

Hayward House – 70th Anniversary

Benson House – 25th Anniversary

Rowe House -  Early 10th Anniversary & celebration of Mr Griffin's 22 years of Boarding House Leadership

Who’s Invited

Old Stortfordian Haywardians and staff across the generations are warmly welcomed to join us. While this reunion is house-focused, invitees are welcome to bring friends and family from other houses to share in the celebration.

Hard copy invitations will be sent out to those we are unable to reach via email but please spread the word and ensure as many of your Hayward contemporaries can join us on the big day!

11-12.30pm – Informal Hayward Open House event – Tours of the House

12.30 - 1.30pm - Drinks reception in the Ferguson Lecture Theatre (old swimming pool)

1.30- 3pm delicious lunch with Benson and Rowe

A Day of Connection & Celebration - Expect a day filled with shared stories and memories

This event is free to attend with advance registration required for all guests.

Please note that Hayward House retains its original structure, with limited step-free access to the ground floor and the
original staircases to the upper floors.

Event information:
 

Hayward House has been situated within what was originally Alliott House since 1997, and the main reunion event will therefore take place in the building now known as Hayward.

As the 25th Anniversary event will be running concurrently in Benson House, attendees will also have the opportunity to visit the former Hayward House for those more familiar with its original location beside the dining hall. Please register upon arrival at Hayward House and inform House staff before walking over to Benson. 

If you are arriving by car: Parking: Guests are asked to park in the Prep School car park, entering the campus via the Prep School entrance on Maze Green Road (Sat Nav: CM23 2PJ). From there, signage will guide you on foot down to Hayward House.

If you are arriving on foot, by taxi or public transport: Please enter the campus via the main entrance off Hadham Road (Sat Nav: CM23 2PQ) and walk up through the campus to Hayward House to register your arrival.
